Run, run, run

William has been running some with me and has entered a few races of his own this spring. All 3 of his races have been half miles and he has done very well. He came in second on the first two of them, and then got first at a race over at the base a couple of weeks ago (unfortunately no photos from that one). I like having a parter now and then, and he really seems to enjoy it...but who wouldn't when you are winning medals?

5, 4, 3...

3 months

4 months

5 months

Jack is growing so very fast! I can't even believe that he is 5 1/2 months old already. He is such a wonderful addition to our family! He is always happy and has the biggest, most contagious grin, just like his daddy. He is starting to really play with toys and his two older brothers are very happy about that. Jack is also working on sitting up and just last week he really started to figured out rolling over from back to belly. At his 5 mos dr. visit he weighed 15 lbs and was 27 1/4 inches long. He is very near going off of the chart (above 95th percentile) on height and is at 25th percentile for weight, so it looks like he got more than just his smile from his dad.

End of the Beginning

Where does the time go? I am far behind on many things these days--this blog is definitely one of them--, but I cannot even believe that we are already through William's kindergarten year! As of last Friday, it is done, over, and gone forever! He did a very good job and really seems to enjoy school. In fact, today is the first official day of summer vacation, and by the end of it he was already asking me when he gets to go back to school--a kid after my own heart. To celebrate his last day we took him to dinner of his choosing (Margaritaville, which he pronounces Margarinaville, and is his favorite) and then for beignets. As you can see from the photos William's class enjoyed face painting on their last day. He is a cat, which is his favorite animal.

I am in the process of crafting an update or two or three to fill in the HUGE gap since my last post IN JANUARY. Hopefully it will be ready soon!

Visitors: Round 2

Bob & Joyce came for a visit about a week and a half ago. It was great to see them and the kids were thrilled to have them here to play with all of their new toys! We all spent a beautiful day at the Chalmette Battlefield for the 196th re-enactment of the Battle of New Orleans. Andy, Bob, and William also took the kayaks out for a quick ride on the lake just across the canal from our house (3 kayaks, but only 2 paddles, so William got towed along). The bonus for me was that Bob and Joyce watched the kiddos while I went to the spa for a pedicure and to get a haircut, which felt so good!

Visitors: Round 1 (Christmas)

My parents came to visit and meet Jack just as we arrived home from the hospital. The timing was GREAT because it also meant that they were here over Christmas. Much Christmas fun was had baking and decorating cookies, decorating an entire gingerbread village, going to see the light display at Celebration in the Oaks, and opening LOTS of presents. In addition, William and Clark got to spend special time with just their grandparents at the zoo. Andy and my dad also took them to the R&L Carriers Bowl Game at the Superdome. It was great to have them visit and what a wonderful Christmas we all had!

Already 1 Month

It is hard to believe, but 1 month has come and gone since the arrival of Jack. He is fitting right into our family and is such a joy! Both bigger brothers have been so much help and love him lots. At his check-up today he weighed 8 lbs, 14 oz (almost 1 lb over his birth weight) and was 22 1/2 inches long (that is 2 1/4 inches growth!!!!). By looking at his hands and feet, I have said from the beginning that he looks to have the potential to be our tallest yet--and he is off to a good start! Both sets of grandparents have visited over the month and I will be posting on those next. The first photo is from today (his 1 mos. birthday) and the other two are from this week.

The New Bundle

It's a BOY!!! Jack Henry arrived at 7:45 am on December 14 weighing in at 7lbs. 15oz. and 20 1/4 inches long. Here are a few photos from his first day. You can see the pride on William's face and, while not too sure at first, Clark is starting to warm up to him too. We came home yesterday and are both doing well.
